BrightCo Electric Ltd. ("BrightCo," "we," "us" or "our") respects the privacy of clients, prospective clients, website visitors, suppliers and other individuals whose personal information we handle. This Privacy Policy explains how BrightCo collects, uses, discloses, protects, retains and provides access to personal information in connection with our electrical contracting business and website.

  • Other information reasonably required to respond to an inquiry, provide electrical services, meet legal obligations or protect people and property

3. How We Collect Personal Information

  • Directly from you through the website, email, text message, telephone, in-person discussions, quotations, work orders, invoices or other documents

BrightCo may collect and use personal information to:

  • Schedule, coordinate and provide electrical services
  • Confirm property access, approvals, permits, inspections, shutdowns and building requirements
  • Communicate about scope, changes, safety concerns, scheduling, invoices and warranty matters

BrightCo limits collection to information that is reasonably appropriate for the identified purposes.

BrightCo obtains consent where required. Consent may be express, such as when you approve a quotation or submit information for a stated purpose, or implied where the purpose is obvious and you voluntarily provide the information. You may withdraw consent on reasonable notice, subject to legal, contractual, safety and record-retention requirements. Withdrawal may limit BrightCo's ability to provide a quotation, service or follow-up support.

6. When We Disclose Personal Information

BrightCo does not sell or rent personal information. We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to:

  • Qualified employees or subcontractors assisting with approved work
  • Website hosting, email, cloud-storage, communications, accounting, scheduling, payment-processing and technology providers
  • Utilities, Technical Safety BC, municipalities, permit or inspection authorities, strata corporations, property managers, building personnel and other parties involved in a project
  • Suppliers, equipment representatives, engineers, fire-alarm contractors and other professionals required for the work
  • Accountants, insurers, legal advisers and other professional advisers
  • Government, regulatory, law-enforcement or emergency authorities where required or permitted by law
  • A purchaser or successor in connection with a proposed or completed sale, financing or reorganization of the business, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal requirements

Service providers are expected to use information only for the services they provide and to protect it appropriately.

7. Website Hosting and Processing Outside Canada

The website may be created and hosted using GoDaddy Airo AI Builder and related GoDaddy hosting, form, security, analytics and infrastructure services. GoDaddy and other technology providers may process or store website, form, traffic or customer information outside Canada, including in the United States. Information processed in another country may be subject to that country's laws and lawful-access requirements.

8. Payments

Card payments, when offered, are processed using third-party payment providers. BrightCo does not intentionally retain complete payment-card numbers. Payment providers have their own privacy and security practices.

9. Cookies, Analytics and Security Tools

The website uses essential technologies required to operate, secure and deliver the site. With your permission, it also uses analytics to understand how visitors use the site. The analytics tool currently active on this website is the GoDaddy Signals analytics service, which collects anonymised traffic and interaction data such as pages visited, clicks and session information. This data is used solely to improve the website and is not used for advertising or remarketing purposes.

BrightCo does not currently use advertising pixels, Meta Pixel, Google Ads remarketing or behavioural advertising trackers. If advertising or additional analytics tools are added in the future, this policy and the site's cookie preferences will be updated before those tools are activated.

You can accept or decline analytics when the Cookie Preferences banner appears, or change your choice at any time using the link in the website footer.

The website may use spam-prevention or security services. Where Google reCAPTCHA is enabled, Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to that service.

10. Retention

BrightCo retains personal information only as long as reasonably required for the purposes for which it was collected and for legal or business needs such as warranty support, tax, accounting, insurance, permit, safety and dispute records. When information is no longer reasonably required, BrightCo will securely destroy it or remove identifying information, subject to backup cycles and legal requirements. Information used to make a decision that directly affects an individual will be retained for at least the period required by applicable privacy law.

11. Security

BrightCo uses reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. These may include account controls, strong passwords, multi-factor authentication where available, encryption provided by service platforms, access limits, secure disposal and reputable service providers. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please avoid sending highly sensitive or unnecessary information by ordinary email, text message or website form.

12. Access and Correction

You may request access to personal information BrightCo holds about you or ask that inaccurate information be corrected. Requests should be sent to the Privacy Officer and should provide enough information to identify you and the relevant records. BrightCo may verify identity before responding. Access may be limited where permitted or required by law, including where disclosure would reveal another person's personal information, confidential commercial information or legally privileged material.

13. Third-Party Websites

The website may contain links to Google, social media, manufacturers, suppliers or other third-party websites. BrightCo is not responsible for the privacy, security or content practices of those third parties.

14. Children

BrightCo's website and services are intended for adults arranging electrical work. BrightCo does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through the website.
